Tips on How To Care and Maintain Your Natural Hair-Conclusion

When it comes to taking care of your hair, no two routines are the same. What works for one person might not work another. What is more is that caring for your hair takes dedication and self-discipline. But with the right strategy, desirable results can be achieved. By wearing protective styles and employing essential oils in your routine, you can obtain and maintain a beautiful and healthy hair.

Protective Hair Styles:

Protective hair styles such as cornrows, box braids and Senegalese twists have proven to be immensely helpful in caring for natural hair.

Essential oils:

These chemical compounds are great because they retain the smell and flavour (essence) extracted from plants through steam distillation or extraction. Essential oils are highly beneficial as they help nurture the hair and scalp. Not only do they have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties, they are also known to help in the secretion of sebum in hair. Some of the best essential oils include:

· Peppermint essential oil.

· Lavender essential oil.

· Ylang-ylang essential oil.

· Tea tree essential oil.

· Rosemary essential oil

· Jojoba essential oil

These oils can be applied in different ways: they can be added to your shampoo and conditioner; or they can be used with the hot oil treatment. Simply add few drops of the carrier oil of your choice to your pre-poo or mix it with your leave-in conditioner for optimal results. Et voila, you are on your haircare journey.

Because we know the benefits of these essential oils first hand, we developed our own hair product, Chevelure Naturelle using three of these oils (Peppermint, Rosemary and Jojoba)

While a great haircare routine is imperative for healthy hair, it is important to note that genetics and robust health contribute significantly to the length, strength and health of one's hair. Diet also plays a major role in maintaining healthy hair as we are what we eat after all. Add nutritious leafy greens, eggs, nuts, seeds and even up your water intake to keep your hair healthy much longer.

Lastly, always remember that a queen’s best revenge is her priceless crown. So, take care of your hair as it is a gem that will set you apart from the crowd and wear it proudly.
